Hello! Both kernels will not start on my system. They stop directly a the begin of the startup procedure. 3.10-kernels start fine.
Thanx

This is way to vague to comment upon, it does boot/ work fine over here on a 2 figure amount of different systems (not that this statement helps you either). |

Thanx. Can I erase the kernels? I have the impression, that something went wrong , when I installed the first 3.11-kernel, because it was not shown in the kernel-remover.

Currently booted kernel as well as the newest available kernel are not shown in the kernel-remover by design.
You should add some details about your system. Like hardware. Also, but without quiet. And tell us more than "directly a the begin of the startup" as this means for me it (maybe, in theory even not that) shows you BIOS/EFI screen but doesn't even reach grub screen (= where you can choose the kernel), which is pretty unlikely (given that you say you can boot into 3.10) |

THank you. My system is an ASUS Notebook witth
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P8700 @ 2.53GHz
and
NVIDIA GeForce GT 130 M
The system starts into GRUB, so I can choose the Kernel. When I choose the 3.11 Kernel, the system stops imidiately with an blank screen.
Are the different 3.11 Kernel installed completely independet. I have the suspicion, that something went wrong whit the installation of the first 3.11 Kernel.

Kernels are install independently.
Are you using the nvidia blob or the free driver?
Blank: Does this mean you display is pitch black (= no backlight) or is the backlight on and "just" nothing happens? Do you have indicator leds and if so is anyone of the blinking (like the one for hdd?).
If you use the nvidia blob: How do you install it: dkms or dmakms(+module-assistant) and in which version?
If you have an external monitor try connecting to it before you boot to see if output is channeled to it instead (if all works well output should be on both monitors). |

Thank you again.
The backlight is on, but nothing happens. Unfortunately I have no externel monitor, no indicator light is blinking. I use the nvidia-blob as i like do use flightgear, which is (was?) unusable with the free driver.
I have installed:
NVIDIA binary kernel module for Linux 3.11-0.slh.2-aptosid-686
nvidia-driver 304.081-1
I have dmakms and dkms on my system as virtualbox wanted dkms.

One additional information. If i start kernel 3.11 in "Wiederherstellungsmodus" it hangs after the message "booting kernel".
Is there a way to get rid of the kernel and reinstall it from the scratch?

The newest kernel won't boot either. It hangs, before the message "loading kernel".
